people that make up Aconcagua Expediciones. Their qualifications,
knowledge, and experience on Aconcagua and many other
of the world's tallest mountains ensure you the highest
standards of safety and professional high altitude mountain
guiding service.
Heber Orona (the only Argentine to climb Mount Everest
without the use of additional oxygen and to have reached
six of the famous 'seven summits') is responsible for
developing the expedition itineraries and plays an active
role in the expeditions themselves.
After more than 10 years of experience on Aconcagua
our expeditions have been perfected to ensure our clients
the highest possible chance of success in reaching the
summit. However, this success does not come at the cost
of the expedition members' safety. Client safety is
our highest priority. Our guides are all nationally
certified and members of the AAGPM (Argentine Association
of Professional Mountain Guides), selected for their
skill and experience. The guide to client ratio is always
considered in terms of maintaining the highest safety
factor possible rather than the highest profit margin.
As proof of this concern over safety our guided expeditions
have yet to suffer any accidents or medical emergencies.
One of the fundamental advantages of our company is
that we are not a commercial outfitter that offers guiding
services but rather mountain guides that offer their
hard-earned expertise. We are very familiar with every
detail that must go into an expedition as well as all
the time, hard work, and energy that our clients have
invested in preparing for the climb.
Aconcagua Expediciones is a local company, which means

Expeditions with fixed dates and open registration
Customized expeditions made to meet the needs of
a particular group or client

Would
it be enough?
Sunday early afternoon January 27, 2002, was one of
a few days in my life I would remember forever.The view
from the top was spectacular but it would have never
happened had I not run accross friends from Mendoza!
I didn't feel secure at the beginning contacting them
through the Internet but gradually gained confidence
feeling safer and safer and learning I was among professionals,
people that cared and helped during this, once in the
life adventure. Both of you, Heber and (Marce) Lito,
and the bunch of previously unknown fellow mountaineers
provided me with fantastic memories which only my Mother
hates -;)! But she does not know that there was always
enough time to rest, something to eat, some place to
overnight and no unnecessary risks taken, all of it
due to the trip organisers.

We have very well appreciated the professionalism
of Heber's team during the preparation and all along
the trek. Mixing in the same group people from different
ages and nationalities was a bet, finally won because
it has created an exceptional relationship between us
that helped to endure the
physical efforts. And the guides were totally in keeping
with the group, encouraging in a smooth adapted way.
Finally, we would like to thank Heber for everything
that contributed to a great souvenir in high altitude,
also for the so nice whether we had even if he was not

The three in our group are pretty much novice trekkers, having only
climbed Kili and Mt Kenya previously (without any problems).
We were apprehensive about Aconcagua as it was a 1000m
higher than Kili. Unfortunately we were hit by bad weather
at the top and didn't make it and one of us had to go down from
Plaza de Mulas with altitude sickness.
However, we had a great time and excellent support from
Heber before and after the climb. Our guide, Miguel 'Lito'
Sanchez, was excellent, giving support and stories about
the mountain. The general support on the mountain was also
much different to Kili (basic) and Kenya (none) with medics
and rescue teams highly visible at Plaza de Mulas and daily
checks with the base camp doctor.
It was a great experience, made all the more enjoyable by
the support and general helpfulness of Heber and his team.

In december 2003 we had the opportunity to try the climb of the magnificent Mt. Aconcagua and we made use of the qualified experience of the Aconcagua Espediciones.
During that adventure we could admire wonderful views and live with very nice people, especially our good guide Marcelo, with whom we laughed a lot.
We really have to thank the very professional team of Heber, for the very good organization of the expedition and we warmly recommend the Aconcagua Expediciones to everyone who wants to visit Argentina.
